Then I became friends with Teresa & Ricklyn - they each also have a boy and a girl! Teresa with Diego and Sophia then Ricklyn with Kailyn and Bill. All 4 are adorable and have a great sense of humor. In the past few days I got to spend time with all 4 and they all wanted to know about Claire [its too cute].
We spent the night at the Hukriede's new home and it was a blast, Ryan played hide & go seek, I played a lot of hand clapping games and we caught up. Then last night the Castillo's graciously let us use their shower while ours was being repaired and we got to hang out with them and catch up too. What I found the most interesting about these recent kid hangouts was how interested they were in our baby and how they thought of things that had not even entered my mind. There were lots of great things that they asked but the two gems that I have to share with you were from Diego, after beating my husband at foosball we were hanging out in the living room and Diego asked, "Hows it going" and pointed at my belly I responded that she was doing well and getting bigger, but then he asked "How do you know when Claire is crying?" I had to stop and think because I just realized that I HAD NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THIS why hadn't I thought about this? I always hear babies crying, I know that babies cry but not once have I Googled this and let me tell you I thought I had Googled everything! My answer was, "I don't think she cries, she has everything she needs in there and is a very happy baby" but really what do I know?! So yes, I looked it up and I have read conflicting reports, some that yes, they do cry but they don't actually make any noise because their lungs aren't fully functional and no, they do not cry because they need air to cry. I am just going to continue believing that Claire is having a party in their and skipped the crying and went straight to laughing instead.
His 2nd question, which made me giggle more than anything was, "What do you think Claire will draw first?" My first thought was a cow, I have no idea why but both Alvaro & Teresa laughed at me, I guess Sophia's first artistic venture was a smiley face which seems to make a lot more sense, but I will work with Claire and she will draw a cow before we know it :)
